of reality and fascination.

while typing this away, I'm currently listening to Big Bang's newest album, Alive.

and in my honest opinion, we K-pop fans know how to actually have fun.
well, why you ask?
because we know how to move our body and bob our head along with the music and songs that we only know maybe 10 % of the meaning.
and that's where Google and YouTube plays a very important role for K-pop fans. in fact, YouTube has dedicated a K-pop channel for the YouTube user.

and I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm one of the fans.
but, I also take a million miles stand away from the so-called die hard fans who jump on people who dislike K-pop.
i'm well aware of people who do not bother to listen to anything Korean or watch anything Korean. that's their prerogative. and i respect that.
keep calm and listen to Big Bang.

truth to be told, i couldn't help to cringe inside whenever i tried listening to Malaysian airwaves expecting some good songs and then, BAM! comes off a Korean song(cue Mr. Simple by Super Junior playing on Hot FM)). why the hell did K-pop songs suddenly become 'mainstream' in my beloved country? i understand the sudden influx of K-pop idol coming to Malaysia to do fan meeting, concert, tour etc. but can we just keep it at that level? there's no more exclusivity.
but as always, this so called trend will die out sooner or later.

and for people that' always doubting K-pop music, saying that's all rubbish and a bunch of talent-less-plastic-fake-couldn't hold a single note while singing-idol, well not all of them are like that.
yes, i'm defending them this time.

to name a few, Big Bang, TVXQ, JYJ, 2NE1, Beast, B.A.P, are all I could think as of now that could provide some cool, fun songs along with their talents in producing the songs.
that's a bunch of talented people, i dare say.

next para is all about how do i come across K-pop.

it's been nearly seven years since I've began my journey of being a K-pop avid fans along with K-indie.
i started with listening to songs from Bi(aka Rain), BoA, TVXQ. Bi is a huge deal at that time with the spread of Hallyu (Korean wave) with his drama, Full House. at that time, i'm just a casual listener of K-pop with my friends being my ultimate source for anything K-pop.i'm more to K-drama watchers.
yes, i watched all of the sappy melodramas such as Winter Sonata, Autumn in my Heart, Stairway to Heaven etc. but there's also many gems such as All About Eve, The Successful Story of A Bright Girl, What's Up Fox. until this time, i still watch Korean dramas but have been carefully selecting only good dramas to be watch.

then, in 2007, i encountered Super Junior, and shamelessly fell head over heels in love with them. until 2009, Super Junior remained my ultimate love in K-pop. the Sorry Sorry songs is the permanent jam for me at that time. i couldn't care less about other group at that time, like Big Bang who? Wonder girls? Nobody nobody but chu? Gee gee gee baby baby?

end of 2009, with one of the member leaving Super Junior, namely Hankyung, i found that my love for them has dwindled. from 90% to 30%. i don't know the reason but mainly because i got bored.

then starting year 2010, i kind of have a girly crush with So Nyeo Shi Dae (SNSD) aka Girls' Generation who by the way came to Malaysia for the F1 concert last Friday. but for them, the crush only lasts like eight months or so since i found out about another girl group, namely the ever awesome 2NE1.
and the love lasts until now.
since they are the label mates of Big Bang, so naturally i couldn't push away the Big Bang's gravitas.
i became their fans and they manage to break through my wall with yours truly attending the K-pop concert in 2011 at Stadium Merdeka only to catch the three of them singing and dancing.
it's one of my life's greatest moment.
and this where I promised myself to attend Big Bang's and 2NE1's live concert anywhere I could afford to go.
up to today, i can safely say that i'm an avid fans of Big Bang and 2NE1 with casually listening to other group's songs. and i feel proud of that.

the thing with being a fan of K-pop music is you got to enjoy to a lot of different groups at the same time. the choice is in your hands. they make a 'comeback' ( releasing a new album, single and performing on music shows) like two times in a year with various concepts. the concepts is for your visual feast. SNSD is notorious for their cutesy-girlish concept while 2NE1 headlined the bad ass-funky concept and Big Bang leads the pack with their absurdness, the other-worldly concept.
they go on variety shows and shows another side of them which you could enjoy and see them with different lights, different from their persona on stage. the side which you could relate to. that they are not un-touchable.
some of them are really good in anything with fan-services, replying fan's tweets, giving updates almost everyday with their posts on social networking services etc.
then, another thing is the stan of the certain idol. they are so dedicated like their whole life is depending on that certain idol. and this is where other fans could benefit. you got to watch a bunch of fan cams, fan taken pictures of professional photographer's quality and many other privileges.

after typing all of my experiences with this thing called K-pop, i could make a fine conclusion for once you've stepped into this world of 'worshiping' K-pop groups, you could never step back. it's like you've fallen into a limbo world, a black hole.
what's left is for you to know the boundaries. of reality and fascination.
